Jean-Marie Kasonga MBOMBO hails from the Democratic Republic of Congo. After many years of pastoral work in the Catholic Church in Nigeria, he took up specialised studies and graduated from Trinity College Dublin (Ireland) with MPhil and PhD degrees in International Peace Studies before joining the academic staff at the Centre for Peace and Strategic Studies, University of Ilorin. Besides teaching postgraduate students, he has attended several seminars, training workshops and conferences nationally and internationally, and published many papers in reputable journals around the world. He has supervised more than 25 M.A. dissertations and co-supervised a couple of PhD theses. Currently, Dr Mbombo is a Senior Lecturer and Editor of the Centre’s Journal of Peace, Security & Development. A member of various societies, he is a certified Mediator and also President of Peace People Network, a Nigerian-based NGO that promotes peaceful living through words and deeds.
