Academic programmes and Activities
Currently, CPSS runs three (3) Academic Programmes at the Master level, viz:
- M. A. Peace and Development Studies which is offered for regular students;
- M. A. Peace and Security Studies, under a MoU with the Institute of Security Studies in Abuja and organised solely for Security personnel. It is a 9 month Programme whereby the first six months is done at the Institute of Security Studies in Abuja. The transcripts from Abuja are transferred to the University of Ilorin where the next three months are spent at the end of which the M. A. Peace and Security Studies of the University of Ilorin is awarded, following due process.
- M. A. Peace and Strategic Studies is under a MoU with the Nigerian Army School of Education (NASE). The Army nominates candidates (soldiers) who are already undergoing a three month course semester in the Executive Management Course in NASE. They, thereafter, spend the next semester at the University of Ilorin, at the end of which they are awarded the M. A. in Peace and Strategic Studies.
The Centre also offers the MPhil. /PhD and PhD Programmes only in Peace and Development Studies to qualified applicants.
